Linda and Sean July 25, 2009

July 25th turned out to be a beautiful day- with what I thought was going to be rain shower, out came the bright sunshine!

Linda and Sean were my first wedding from start to finish- my first wedding I ever booked back in October 2008. So I was very excited for this event! I had been in touch with them for months, we did their tasting in April to go over every detail.

Linda and Sean dropped off everything to me on Friday afternoon. They has favors and centerpieces, table numbers, menu cards, place cards, pictures, cocktail napkins with their names on them, chocolates for the tables, and of course their cake cutter and server and toasting glasses. I took all of their items and brought them up to the ballroom to keep them over night. The chocolate and flowers went in the refrigerator of course!

Saturday was a busy day for me. I got to work at 12:30. Their cocktail reception didn’t start until 6:00, but I had a full day planned. A wedding site at 1:30, wedding tasting for a wedding in October at 2:00 (which usually lasts an hour and a half to two hours) another wedding site at 4 and then I had to get everything set up for 6:00!

The time line for the wedding was:
2:00PM Ceremony- in Chinatown
6:00PM-7PM Cocktail Reception
7:00PM Doors Open
7:10PM Introductions
7:15PM Bride and Groom's First Dance
7:20PM Toasts (2)
7:30PM Dinner
8:00PM Cake Cutting Ceremony, Bouquet and Garter Toss
10:30PM Bar Closes
11:00PM Wedding is Over

When I got to work I got started right away- put together their beautiful centerpieces. The flowers were already in the vases- I just had to add the water and the candles. Table numbers went out, along with their menu cards, and glass bowls of chocolate. I accomplished all this by the time by first site showed up and then had the tasting.

Once I was done with my appointments, I had plenty more to do! The tables were being set up, so I let the servers do their work and I worked on the place card table and the centerpieces for the cocktail hour.

Linda and Sean’s ceremony was in Chinatown at 2:00PM, they went out and took pictures and arrived at the hotel around 5:30ish- I brought them up to their Private Bridal Room next to the ballroom where they could relax, but first I brought them into the ballroom so they could see it set up. The servers were still setting up, as was I, the band had arrived and they were getting settled also. But I opened the doors and they LOVED it. The pink bows on the chairs where the perfect color- Rose- to match her bridesmaids dresses. They were a PERFECT match.

I still had to put the favors on all the tables and make sure everything was perfect before the guests started showing up any minute! So Linda, Sean and their bridal party sat in the other room waiting for others to arrive, especially their parents so that they could do their Tea Ceremony.

Guests started arriving and soon Pre-Assembly and Westminster were filled with laughter, conversations, appetizers and drinks.
Doors opened at 7:00PM- where all the guests found their seats so we could get started. The Band MC introduced everyone and Linda and Sean danced to their first song, the song that was playing when Sean proposed to Linda. There were a few toasts, a blessing by their priest, and then it was time to eat!

Appetizer: Porcini Ravioli
Salad: Baby Frisee Salad
Entrée: they offered all 3- Pan Seared Atlantic Salmon with Roasted Beurre Blanc
Petite Filet Mignon with Deep Sea Shrimp, Oven Roasted Statler Chicken Breast

We did the cake ceremony inbetween the salad and entee to as had enough time to cut the cake and get it ready in time.

At around 9:15 when dinner was over, Linda went and changed into her Red Evening Gown, when she came back into the ballroom, the band played “Lady in Red” as Linda walked into the dance floor into Sean’s arms and they danced. They did a bouquet and garter toss, which you don’t see too often anymore. And then the dancing began! They had a Michael Jackson tribute, as they are big MJ fans. And the band played until the end.

I said good bye to Linda and Sean around 10:30, even though their night was ending at 11:00. I made sure that everything was all set for them. They seemed very happy and thanked me for an amazing night.

Linda came by on Wednesday to pick up the top of their wedding cake, thanked me again and brought my some chocolates. She’s so sweet! It was an amazing night, and everything went according to plan. I was happy to have been a part of their wedding day and made their dream come true!
