We met in advance to go over all of the details. They were planning on having a traditional Indian/Hindu wedding here at the hotel. They were having the ceremony and reception/dinner with us in our Belvidere Ballroom. The day started early for me!
The day was starting at 11:45 when Neil arrived at the hotel by horse and carriage! The room was already set up the night before, the decorators came in to set up the Mandap and the stage and the aisle for the ceremony. I arrived at 10:00AM to get a few small items done, put the programs on each chair, make sure that Jolly and her parents were all set, and that the room was perfect.
They were having their ceremony, a lunch for their guests and then starting their cocktail reception a bit later to give everyone some time to digest and get ready for the night!
The Time line of the day was:
11:45 Grooms Arrival on Dalton St
12:45 everyone to be seated in the Ballroom
1:00 Ceremony starts
2:10 Ceremony ends- bride and groom walk outside to the horse and carriage
2:30 Lunch starts in Maverick A&B
6:00 Cocktail Reception in West/PreAssembly
7:00 Doors Open 7:10 Introductions 7:15 Neil will give a speech
7:20 Bride and Groom first dance
7:30 Cake Cutting
7:40 Toast
7:50 Dinner
9:00ish Neils Dad will speak
9:05 Jollys dad will speak
9:10 Father/Daughter Dance
9:15 Mother/Son Dance
10:30 Bar Closes
11:00 Dinner and Dancing has come to an end
It was very interesting, since it was my first Indian/Hindu wedding. The caterer was great! Awesome to work with. So was the decorator. But the night went smoothly. A HUGE success.
Below are some pictures from the day.
