I got the Martha Stewart Weddings Magazine in the mail yesterday and I found this AMAZING idea for escort cards. Which has me inspired to talk about them today!

Above is the new idea that I am in LOVE with. MarthaStewartweddings.com is officially one of my new favorite wedding websites!

Below is the description that is on the site-

Thirst-Quenching Escort Cards: Welcome guests to your reception with refreshing drinks that are tagged with their table numbers. The chilled mint lemonade shown here is delicious for spring and summer occasions. In the cooler months, serve apple cider or hot cocoa in mugs.

Since I am having a fall wedding, we were thinking about doing hot apple cider with a cinnamon stick in it instead, but do we keep it in the bottle or use a mug? Either way it is a wicked cute idea. So I had to share it.

The pictures below are some others that I thought were super cute and had to share as well. So make sure you check out marthastewartweddings.com.

Michelle and Dave - Reception

Michelle and Dave are an amazing couple! It was an absolute pleasure to work with them on their wedding. Talk about an organized bride!

They celebrated the whole weekend here at the Hilton Boston Back Bay. They held a small reception on Friday night after their rehearsal dinner for all of their guests staying here at the hotel. Which are quite a lot, as they had about 23 rooms booked for Friday night. They offered some amazing food, a variety of flatbread pizzas, buffalo wings and mini burger sliders. They hosted this in the Diamond Lounge which is adjacent to our restaurant FORTY DALTON. They wanted their guests to be able to have access to the bar and to have a private space for their guests to talk and spend some time together. Everyone had a great time! This is becoming a pretty popular thing to do- having a small reception the night before the wedding for the guests that are staying over. And we have a great space that can accommodate it.

Their wedding was Saturday evening; 6:30pm was the ceremony. Michelle had a fun day planned of going to Newbury St and getting ready with her girls. With strict instructions of ‘No Drinking’ for Dave, he spent the day with his family and friends.

They had musicians playing during the arrival of their guests. At this point, I had Dave confined to a room so that I could go upstairs and get Michelle and her Bridal Party. Up to the 26th floor, as they were waiting ever so patiently for me, so that we could get started!

Getting everyone lined up was super easy- because they are all great people and listened to me on Friday at the rehearsal- LOVE that!

The one thing different about Michelle and Dave’s wedding, that we don’t normally do, is they got married in the Belvidere Ballroom and then had their Dinner and Dancing in the Belvidere Ballroom. We made the room flip during cocktail hour which took place in the Pre-Assembly Area and in the Westminster Room. After the cocktail reception, we opened the doors the ballroom and the air wall and invited all of their guests back into the ballroom that was completely set for dinner. Tables, centerpieces, dance floor, head table and DJ. It looked amazing. It is also pretty amazing how we can flip the room during that time period.

The rest of the evening was a huge success- everyone had a great time! Great food, great company and great music. Another successful wedding!!

Wedding Update*

I am going to try on my wedding dress again today!!! I get to see it in white and finally order it! I am so excited!

Lost of planning has been done over the past few weeks- which is a huge relief. Transportation, the dress, bridesmaid dresses, the band, cake, photographer.

Now I just need to get my Fiance on finishing out Save The Dates. He is ver artistic and we have planned that he is going to draw them, and hes almost done, he just needs to draw a picture of a bride. I will definitely share the final product, because it is going to be amazing.

I just want wait to get to the summer- so I can start to really get into the planning and get some stuff done.

Another Amazing Comment*

This past weekend we had 3 wedding tasting for 3 couples that are hosting their wedding at the Hilton Boston Back Bay this year. They were amazing, and I am very happy to say that all 3 couples left happy and FULL.

I receieved the below email from Carolyn, a bride getting married in May, when I returned to the office on Tuesday.

"Dear Jocelyn:

It was great seeing you this past Saturday. The tasting was simply fantastic and it was all very exciting for us. What was presented to us is exactly what we have in mind for our guests in terms of quality of food, service and the look of the table. So thanks very much to you as well as Marc who was amazing. (Compliments to the Chef too!)"

I am very glad that they left happy and that we exceeded their expectations. Our food is amazing.

First Wedding of the Year!!

I am very excited to say that we have our first wedding of the year tomorrow!!!! Michelle and Dave have been amazing to work with and I can't wait to be a part of their special day!

Their colors are Navy Blue and Pink- which are going to look great in our ballroom. Michelle is definitely a DIY bride and has put together some creative items that I will be sharing with you next week with pictures!

The wedding day is a very anticipated day for me, I love that I am able to make a couples day the way that they want it to be. I think the best part is that they know that they are in very good hands and the brie can relax. I have everything under control.

When you get to this point, everything is out of your hands. You can only plan so much- and there are things that can go wrong or there may be a mishap- but you have to go with it. Having a positive attitude at the end is key! No matter what, the day is going to be amazing.

Wedding Hair

I am in the process of growing out my hair for my wedding.. which is in 255 days. :) Wow, that seems so far away but the next 8 months are going to fly by! Anyway, I am writing today about hair styles. I havent really decided how I want my hair style to be. I am not an 'up-do' kind of person. My hair is NEVER in a ponytail, it is always down. I feel that is how I look my best. But then I see some of these beautiful up do's and I am torn!

I do love curls.. and when my hair is long it is usually curly in some shape or form. This first hair style is my favorite. Or maybe the same style just have it to the side a little some that some hair can fall in front of me. My hair always needs to be in the front. I do have to hide the back of my neck though, I dont ususally talk about personal items on here, but I have tatoos on the back of my neck! 4 stars that represent mine and my siblings birthstones. (covering up tattoos will be another post I think. haha) So I feel like I need to have my hair down to cover them. or I can cover them up with make up. But my Mom is totally against being able to see tattoos in your wedding dress.

But below are some hair styles that I like, and that are very versitile. I most likely will do something close to the first picture.. and will most likely be getting extensions. there is no way my hair is going to grow 10 inches by October.

All the pictures are from The Knot, and they have a ton more! Make sure that you do a trial run with your Hair Dresser before your wedding, so that you know that you want and so that your hair dresser is fully prepared when they come the day of your wedding.
Also, for the brides with short hair... do not think that it isn't possible to get a cute hair style. Many things can be done with short hair, ask your hair dresser what she thinks. Afterall, they are the professional at it!
